We are proud of our Athena Swan Bronze Award and strive to provide a working environment which allows all staff and students to contribute fully, flourish, and excel.RoleWe are seeking an experienced project manager, embedded within University of York’s BioArCh facility (Heslington West Campus), to help establish a national service for biomolecular archaeology (BIOARC-HS). You will help manage the first stage of the project which involves expanding our facilities and automating workflows to meet the demands of the UK heritage science community. The essence of the project is to translate cutting-edge research in biomolecular archaeology into an accessible service for museums, fieldwork units and other heritage practitioners.The successful applicant will oversee delivery of the project, engaging with our academic, technical and administrative aspects as appropriate. You will also liaise with our project partners to understand their requirements. You will be expected to take an active role in the expansion of our current infrastructure through the purchase of equipment, overseeing the construction of new laboratory spaces, and improving our sample and data tracking systems by implementing a new laboratory management system. You will work closely with the Director of BioArCh and assist the Department of Archaeology’s Technical Team Manager to help manage and ensure successful delivery of the project.
