We are currently looking for a Project Director (m/f/d) for Push-Pull Intercity Trains for our Mobility location in Vienna or Graz. As a project director, you will manage a multidisciplinary team to handle very complex and high-profile projects in the billion Euro range and report directly to the Head of Passenger Coaches. You will take on a central role in our company as an entrepreneur with full profit and loss responsibility for your project.

Your new field of activity – challenging and future-oriented

• You will be responsible for the project in all phases from development, procurement, production, commissioning, homologation, and handover to the customer as well as through the warranty period.
• Leading multidisciplinary teams to jointly develop innovative solutions for sustainable passenger transportation and implement them to the satisfaction of our customers.
• Creating an inspiring and motivating work environment in the team where creativity, teamwork and collaboration are encouraged, and you encourage employees to do their best.
• You communicate the project results and progress to senior management and other stakeholders.
• You are the face to the customer for the project and ensure customer satisfaction in all aspects for your project.
• Continuously monitor the progress of your project, identify roadblocks, and develop solutions to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget while keeping the customer needs in mind.
• You continuously look for improvement potentials in close cooperation with the team taking into account schedules, budget and quality assurance standards.

Your qualifications – well-founded and adequate

• Interest in sustainable mobility solutions, digitalization, and rail vehicles
• Resilient, open-minded, communicative, and proactive personality who can solve problems in an independent manner.
• Positive attitude that can motivate a team and foster cooperation in difficult situations.
• Completed technical education (e.g. industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, etc.).
• Several years of experience in project management for large complex customer projects.
• Several years of experience in leading a project team in a matrix organization.
• Experience in the railway industry especially with rolling stock.
• Certified Senior Project Manager, certification as Project Director is a plus.
• Very good oral and written proficiency/knowledge in German and English

What else should I know?

We offer an attractive remuneration package in line with your qualifications and professional experience. The legally required minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement for this position is at least EUR 105.000 based on all-inclusive employment. Depending on your education, experience and overtime, a higher salary can be agreed. As a large corporation, Siemens also offers additional social benefits.
