The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) seeks a Market Analysis Advisor to lead transformative change in humanitarian aid. The Advisor will play a pivotal role in enhancing humanitarian workers’ capacity in cross-cutting market analysis skills for cash preparedness and localisation of procurement.

Responsibilities include adapting and delivering virtual training programs, developing and launching a Training of Trainers initiative, and providing technical guidance on implementation. The Advisor will facilitate debriefs, write reports, and ensure findings are shared effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Key competencies include training design/facilitation, market analysis methodologies (MSMA, Stoplight), stakeholder engagement, and fluency in English, with French, Arabic, or Spanish desirable.

What you will do:

Some of your specific responsibilities include:

  • Develop and Deliver Training Programs: Adapt and facilitate virtual training programs on market analysis methodologies, including the development of a Training of Trainers (TOT) program and capacity building plan.
  • Engage, Report and Advocate: Organize virtual debriefs, write detailed reports on findings and recommendations, and document lessons learned, also for advocacy. Collaborate with the project coordinator for monitoring, evaluation, and post-training modifications.
  • Ongoing Support and Mentorship: Monitor participant engagement, mentor TOT program graduates, and foster a community of practice to reinforce learning and application.

What you will bring:

  • Professional background in a relevant field (e.g. cash- and voucher-based modalities, market analysis, market-based programming in the humanitarian sector, learning and development, organisational development).
  • Experience in successful training design, delivery, and evaluation to meet organisational requirements.
  • Knowledge of market analysis methodologies, such as MSMA and Stoplight methodologies for market analysis or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with online training methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders at various organisational levels and balance their priorities.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Fluency in English is required in both written and verbal, other languages as French, Arabic and Spanish are desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • High degree of service-mindedness.
  • Very strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong networking and representation skills.
  • Result-oriented and problem solving.
  • Strong analytical skills.

What we offer:

  • Duty station: Oslo, Berlin, Brussels or London.
  • Contract: Temporary 23 months contract.
  • Salary/benefits: Grade 8 on NRC’s regional salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.
