AEGIS is a pioneering research centre headed by prof. Eske Willerslev. It brings together a highly interdisciplinary and international team of world-leading research groups with a shared vision of developing more robust, sustainable, and biodiverse crops and agricultural practices to mitigate the effects of climate change on global food production: .AEGIS combines the fields of ancient environmental DNA, genomics, metagenomics, informatics and biostatistics, evolutionary biology, ecology, geology, biodiversity, archaeology, plant engineering, and agricultural crop research. We will collect and work on geological sediments, bones, and fossils from approximately 200 different locations around the world to generate and analyse vast amounts of ancient environmental DNA and other ancient and modern biomolecular- data and associated metadata.Your job
We are employing a qualified, highly motivated and committed full-time programme manager with solid experience from larger research consortia, preferably with experience from research centres with large and complex project portfolios:

  • Lead a group of project managers each responsible for one or more projects including procedures, forms and tracking systems for resources in all core activities (e.g. staff, functions, samples, data).
  • Develop, update, and disseminate programme plans
  • Responsible for clarity of tasks and track programme progress and ensure transparency documentation, and access to information and data.
  • Ensure and facilitate coordination between core leaders; organize and facilitate/lead meetings, prepare agendas, distribute summaries.
  • Participate in strategic analysis, stakeholder management, and planning with leadership and core leaders to overcome bottlenecks and anticipate challenges.
  • Organize and facilitate dissemination of ongoing programme activities across the different projects in the portfolio.
  • Oversee preparation of project reports.
  • Interact with the Centre- and Institute administration, and central University departments (e.g. Finance, Tech transfer).

Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic programme manager with the following competencies and experience:Essential experience and skills

  • Academic background (e.g. master or PhD) from engineering or science preferably in logistics or other with experience from bigdata/ high-throughput.
  • Documented experience with management of large research (or development) projects or complex cohort of projects.
  • Strong management and communication skills as well as a strict adherence to strong ethical business and research practices.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, strong attention to details and with excellent time management skills.
  • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English (and optionally Danish).
  • Excellent collaboration skills.

Desirable experience and skills

  • Portfolio management – managing a portfolio of preferably research projects
  • Leadership experience in a project manager context
  • Experience in project management in an academic environment

The appointment as Programme Manager is positioned as Senior Consultant (TAP-FU Chefkonsulent med personaleansvar) and is a full-time and permanent position.The start date is 1 February 2025, or after agreement. Working hours will be 37 hours per week on average.Employment will be in accordance with The Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning Academics in the state sector concluded between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and Akademikerne (The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations)The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority) with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement based on prior experience and qualifications. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.Questions
