We are excited to recruit into the Professorship of Dermatology (Honorary Consultant). You will have the opportunity to develop an internationally-leading academic research programme in Cambridge, which will form part of a major strategic focus on immune-mediated diseases, immunology and infection.The Professorship will be held in the Department of Medicine, which delivers high quality research, teaching and patient care. It currently holds competitive research grants of over £160M, and has strategic partnerships with the Wellcome Sanger Institute, the Babraham Institute, GSK and AstraZeneca. This thriving biotechnology network forms part of the Cambridge Cluster.The Professor in Dermatology will be a member of the Cambridge Institute of Therapeutic Immunology and Infectious Disease (CITIID), which is part of the Department of Medicine. This will include lab space and funding to support research in infectious diseases.Candidates should demonstrate alignment to the scientific research objectives of CITIID, including research expertise in human immunology and/or human infection to support establishing a new tissue immunity programme, and increasing links with both academia and industry in experimental medicine. In addition, the role holder will work with the NHS to inform clinical dermatology service development and delivery.You must be clinically qualified and will be an international leader in the area of Dermatology and Immunology, or a relevant scientific discipline, with a focus on fundamental biology, translational research or both.
