Télécom Paris is positioned as an open-air laboratory for all the major technological and societal challenges: artificial intelligence, quantum computing, IOT, cybersecurity, major digital facilities (Cloud), 5G/6G, Green IT.We are looking for a professor in photonics and optical communications to join the Optical Telecommunications Group (GTO) in the Communications and Electronics Department (COMELEC).
The GTO group conducts research into short- and long-distance communications, optical network architectures, semiconductor optical components and integrated photonics for communications, and recently into quantum communications and technologies. The group is also well positioned in the field of fibre sensors.
We are looking for a candidate with internationally recognised multidisciplinary research experience in the above-mentioned fields. He/she will have to set up an ambitious research programme, participate in teaching at Télécom Paris, take part in Masters programmes in the Saclay scientific cluster, and contribute to the service of the institution and the profession.Your main tasks will be to:– Design and implement teaching in your scientific field
– Conduct research in your scientific field
– Develop and maintain partnerships, collaborations and contractual relations in your scientific field.Job requirementsCandidates with proven experience in the field of photonics in one of the following areas:– Technologies / Photonic components / Silicon optics
– Optoelectronics / Semiconductor lasers
– Optical communications systems
– Digital signal processing for future generations of optical systems
– Quantum information processing
– Integration of electronics and photonics
– Innovative use of AI for optical devices, systems and networks
– Photonic technologies for AITo be successful in this role, you will need to have a habilitation to direct research or an equivalent level, you will need to have in-depth knowledge, both theoretical and applied, in the field but also a knowledge of the academic and industrial ecosystem at international level (fluency in English is therefore necessary).Why join us?
