Professor in Organization Studies with special expertise in Technology and Innovation – DTU Management

Job Description:We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a distinguished scholar to join the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) as a Chair (full professor) and Head of Section at Department of Technology, Leadership and Economics – in short DTU Management.The position offers a unique platform to conduct pioneering research in organization studies while joining DTU’s broader ecosystem of technological knowledge and innovation.In announcing this professorship, we look for research leadership on understanding how technologies change the way we organize, strategize and lead. We focus on the role of organizations in managing, innovating and developing technologies that enable business value creation, green transitions and societal progress.The new professor will be chairing our research in this area and take leadership in building a group within this field and setting the academic course for the group. The department is committed to supporting this development over the coming years with significant investments. In addition to the full professorship, the section (group) will include four faculty members, with two positions currently vacant and awaiting the new chair.We work with a variety of research methods, including ethnographic traditions. The department runs a methods lab that works experimentally with new digital and multimodal approaches targeting scholars and students as well as stakeholders beyond academia.Responsibilities and qualifications
The successful candidate is expected to shape and develop the profile and research agenda of the group. Over the coming years, significant impact and external funding must be secured – and as part of that, collaboration with international academia, society, as well as technical groups across DTU, is awaited.Building on your academic and didactic competences, you are expected to develop and strengthen our course portfolio, and you must be experienced in and enthusiastic about teaching and interacting with students at different levels.The new professor has a strong proven track record in research at an international level on the interaction between organization, leadership and technology. Examples of research areas that the professor might cover within the context of technology development and application:
We expect the professor to publish in leading/high-ranking international academic journals within our field such as Organization Studies, Strategic Organization, Journal of Management Studies, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Academy of Management Discoveries, and Organization.You are expected to take a lead role in teaching at the BEng, BSc, MSc and PhD levels.DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.You will be assessed against the responsibilities and qualifications stated above and the following general criteria:
Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. Starting date according to mutual agreement. The position is a full-time position.
