You are expected to contribute to the department’s research on the impacts of anthropogenic stressors on ecosystems in Danish and Arctic waters and contribute to the overall research strategy of the department.Your profile The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of the processes that govern the spatial and temporal dynamics of marine ecosystems and be well qualified within the field of numerical modelling.
Applicants should hold scientific qualifications at professor level with at least 10 years of highly productive post-graduate research and have a significant publication record in high-quality, international peer reviewed journals. A significant established history of securing external funding is required.
A research management capability and ability to develop and manage large research projects is required, as is an ability to proficiently supervise postdocs, MSc and PhD students. Experience with consultancy/advisory projects and interaction with authorities and stakeholders would be beneficial.
You have extensive international and national research collaborations which have led to publication of joint papers and the development of effective research applications. The candidate is expected to be interested in working in an interdisciplinary academic environment with high focus on research-based advisory work and in addressing the impacts of anthropogenic pressures on marine ecosystems. You are expected to play a significant role in the development of modelling frameworks and to contribute to an integration of these in different parts of the department’s research.Who we are The Department of Ecoscience is engaged in research programs, teaching and advisory work covering the major biological subdisciplines. We conduct advanced research in the areas of biology and ecology, arctic environment and ecosystems, biodiversity, and conservation biology. The Department holds a recognized position in international marine research and is a recognized authority in research-based consultancy and knowledge exchange on effects of anthropogenic impacts on the marine environment.
