It concerns a part-time (20%) position as Professor in the rank of Assistant Professor (docent) in the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Product Design, charged with academic teaching (mostly in Dutch), scientific research and carrying out scientific duties in the field of Human-Centered Manufacturing.Academic educationYou lecture various course units in the discipline of Human-Centered Manufacturing, more specifically ‘Factories of the Future’ (E640900) and ‘Human-Centered Manufacturing’ (E680110).Academic researchYou conduct research in the area of Human-Centered Manufacturing, more specifically on research questions related to cognitive support for production employees in the make industry. By extension also optimally support and train various profiles (a.o. quality engineer, maintenance engineer, automation engineer, methods/process engineer, scheduler) on different human factors (from cognition to ergonomics, safety and well-being).Academic servicesYou take part in the internal and external service provision of the department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Product Design.PROFILEExperienceYou have already conducted eminent academic research in the given discipline, which is clearly reflected in publications in high-quality academic journals and peer-reviewed books.You are capable of initiating, supervising and acquiring the necessary funding for academic research.You are didactically skilled to teach university students to develop academic competences.Recommend are:experience in supervising research and/or coaching PhD students;international mobility, among other things thanks to research stays at institutions external to the one where you acquired your highest academic degree;professionalisation of education;
externally acquired research funding;an extensive professional network with relevant contacts in industry;a good command of the Dutch language.You must master the language of instruction in which you will teach a course at CEFR-level C1. You can demonstrate this by means of a language certificate or a diploma obtained from an institution in which that language is the language of instruction. In addition, Article II.270, §1 of the Codex of Higher Education requires that (i) you must master the Dutch language at least at CEFR-level A2 within two years after the start of the appointment and (ii) you must be able to master the Dutch language at least at CEFR-level of B2 within five years after the start of the appointment. Upon evaluation of a foreign (non-EU) diploma, a certificate of equivalence may still have to be requested at . If this is the case, we advise you to initiate this recognition procedure as soon as possible. You are required to have the recognition no later than on the date of your appointment.You have at least two years of postdoctoral experience on September 1, 2025.
