Ensure right customs documents get created in time and communicates with customers, 3PL partners and customs authorities about this as needed. Manage internal customs audit and maintenance of documents for correct record keeping. Support various import duty saving programs and explore all bonded warehouse benefits.Your ImpactOrganizational Impact:

  • Support flawless import/ export process by preparing and filing all documentation required for goods movement from/to EU, GB, and other countries.
  • Resolve pending issues delaying customs clearance of shipments. Answer internal customer inquiries and cooperate with customs brokers and customers.
  • Maintenance of company’s duty drawback program. Keep accurate record of duty savings, perform detailed analysis, and create improvement plans.
  • Ability to apply product classification for various product types. Monitor and correct HTS data in FMS and 3PL systems.
  • Maintenance of Import/ Export Compliance manual and coordinating SOP’s
  • Responsible for keeping knowledge up to date on Trade Agreements and other international trade regulations.

Process Management:

  • Competency in process management is required to build optimal ways of working and operationalizing systems to meet service and customer requirements (ie: Duty/Tax, GSP, etc.)

Communication:

  • High level of cross functional collaboration, both written and verbal, with operational and key stakeholders, both internal and external (incl. government officials)
  • Be confident with process, systems and be able to translate commercial strategy into operating model and supply chain solutions
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 years + experience in trade compliance function. Customs brokerage experience is a plus.
  • Preferred experience in apparel & fashion industry.
  • High level of competency in customs clearance process in Europe and other countries
  • Understanding of customs entry types and processes such as transit, bonded warehouse etc.
  • Familiarity with EU and UK duty savings programs
  • Good presentation skills required.
  • Highly effective communicator with the ability to summarize and present complex data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite & Knowledge enterprise management system and CRM solutions (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently. Multilingual is a plus (English + Dutch)

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Amsterdam office.
  • Return to Work Designation: Hybrid work (baseline of minimum 2 days a week in-office.
