What we expect from you:Integrated within the R&D area in the chemical business, the person incorporated will collaborate with the Product Development and Technical Support Laboratory Coordinator in Research and Development projects for short- and long-termincluding project’s premises, schedule, resources, etc. You will plan, initiate and execute projects in the field of surfactants under supervision and following established standards and methods.Among your main functions, you will:
- Analyze the existing parameters in the specifications of Cepsa Química products and understand their correlation with the manufacturing process.
- Conduct advanced analysis of formulations composition using chromatographic analytical techniques. Advanced analysis of surfactant properties.
- Study and incorporation of good formulation practices.
- Analyze surfactant properties both at the chemical-physical level (surface tension, rheology, etc.) and in final applications (washing machine, dishwasher, personal care).
- Have in-depth knowledge of analytical techniques to solve unknown problems that deviate from routine work. Design and carry out complex formulations for home and personal care.
- Laboratory experiments for evaluating new technologies along with preparation of materials for protecting inventions/enabling successful patent applications if required.
- Documentation of research findings, including preparation of presentation materials, scientific publications, marketing material, etc.
- Conduct state-of-the-art studies by utilizing scientific and patent databases.
- Develop deep reasoning regarding the relationship between the results obtained at the experimental level and the characteristics of the molecule/production processes, validating the consistency of the results and their theoretical explanation.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (preferably a PhD), with extensive knowledge and experience in Analytical and Physical Chemistry, including analysis techniques (e.g., gas and liquid chromatography, rheology, dynamic light scattering, mass spectrometry).
- Proficiency in English (oral and written, minimum C1 level).
- Solid understanding of surfactant properties and surfactant-based formulations and proven experience in analyzing and classifying research documentation.
- Exceptional analytical and organizational abilities, outstanding collaboration and communication skills, capable of engaging at a high scientific level and simplifying complex technical topics in both Spanish and English with excellent presentation skills.
- A strong passion for innovation, highly engaged and self-motivated and ability to work autonomously.
