Production Technician

Location: Newport, Wales.

Position Summary:

Responsible for the running and upkeep of Injection Moulding and/or ISBM/EBM and equipment. This role will ensure all machinery and equipment is running efficiently, checked and maintained within laid down specifications, whilst achieving production targets in accordance with daily/weekly manufacturing plan and adhere to the Company’s 4-I values!

Key Responsibilities:

  • That all equipment is maintained in a safe and reliable condition

  • Carry out any mechanical and/or electrical and/or setting work within factory (within the scope of competence) including any work as may be required in any unit

  • To assist in any training of other Production Technicians and to attend any training courses necessary to improve skill level

  • Ensure safe working practices at all times and adhere to any department rules and regulations

  • Liaise with Management of any occurrence or foreseeable occurrence likely to cause a breakdown

  • To set equipment to required standard i.e. to acquire optimum conditions to achieve quality standards

  • To ensure wastage of material is kept to a minimum

  • To ensure that all relevant procedures are carried out in accordance with company conformance to ISO 9001

  • To change over equipment for various production runs.

  • Ensure that all statistic and record sheets are accurate filled in and kept up-to-date.

  • To be aware of reject production i.e. high wastage and process loss

  • To ensure compliance with all Company rules and regulations, and also maintain a high standard of housekeeping and the workplace is kept clean and tidy

  • To ensure manufacturing adheres to and conforms with the required technical and quality specifications in line with the Company’s ISO 9001 quality systems.

  • Support lean manufacturing programme in conjunction with PPI continuous improvement team.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Numeracy, Literacy & PC literacy skills

  • NVQ level 2 equivalent qualification in processing and shown experience in a similar role
