As Production Planner you will be part of the supply chain team and report to the Planning Manager. Your job is to create detailed production schedules for the refinery and the packaging lines, call off raw materials and manage inventory levels in the most efficient way, considering on time in full delivery to customers, raw material availability, production capacity and human resources. You will collaborate closely together with the planning, production, customer service, logistics and quality teams.
The purpose of supply chain is to fulfill demand, drive customer value, improve responsiveness, facilitate financial success and build a good network. A good production plan is key to this, and necessary to maximize productivity, optimize resource utilization, eliminating waste, reduce inventory costs, and improve the process flow and on-time delivery of our product mix.ResponsibilitiesIn this role, your primary tasks and responsibilities include:Production Planning
- Create and maintain production plans, process flows in the most efficient way, addressing materials, production resources, human resources, capacity and the routing or methods to complete the work in a standard time.
- Achieve efficient and effective order fulfilment: getting the right product to customers at the right time, efficiently and at the lowest possible cost.
Maintain accurate master data in SAP.Matching Supply, Demand and Capacity
- Call off raw materials and components to meet the short- and medium-term production requirements.
- Matching assets such as inventory, production resources, storage capacity, and production routes with the supply of raw materials and customer demand to create an optimal production plan.
- Understanding customer demand, forecast, lead times, shelf life, quality standards to assess risks and identify bottlenecks.
- Developing innovative solutions to complex and dynamic supply, demand, and capacity issues, while highly collaborating with key stakeholders.
Inventory
- Ensure that you have the right type and amount of inventory at the right locations in close collaboration with the inbound- and outbound planner.
- Regularly review inventory strategies (MTO/MTS).
Improvement
- Optimize the use of SAP and planning methodologies.
- Drive continuous improvements and report key performance indicators (KPI’s).
About you
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or in a related field.
- Ideally 2 to 4 years of experience with Planning in a Food Processing, Chemical and/or pharmaceutical environment is a strong asset.
- Profound SAP knowledge or another ERP system along with professional level Excel skills.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
- Problem solving skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proactive attitude.
- Able to operate in a dynamic organization and complex process environment, set high standards, drive improvements, open for a challenge.
- Team player with good social and effective communication skills.
