Job Title: Production Manager Polymers & Fluids

Summary:The Production Manager of Polymers & Fluids area is responsible for operating the facilities in compliance with the applicable regulations and under operating conditions consistent with equipment design, product characteristics, and process safety limits.

The position is responsible for developing the short-term strategies such as: productivity, usage reduction, and efficiency increase.

Manages production personnel consistent with applicable regulations, contractual rules, corporate policies and overall business goals while setting vision and developmental targets for the day-to-day production results.

Implements initiatives aimed at the introduction of new products within the area of responsibility, facilitates the organization and execution of Lean, Continuous Improvement and 5S initiatives in line with business objectives.

Networks with other sites within PA OPS manufacturing grid to identify and implement best practices and processes that drive overall performance improvement.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Production Planning : Collaborate with Supply Chain and Process Manager to develop the production plan, maximizing volumes and efficiency.

  • Control and Monitoring: Implement and monitor daily production processes, volumes, usage, and quality to prevent and correct deviations.

  • Production Costs: Develop and manage production costs, including contractor activities, within budget limits.

  • Performance Indicators: Develop and monitor KPIs (Unit Cost, Cost variability, FPR, OOS, OEE, Schedule attainment) in cooperation with other managers.

  • Safety: Ensure the implementation of safety procedures in line with corporate policies. Comply with legal obligations as defined in Legislative Decree 81/2008.

  • Medium and Long-Term Strategies: Support the Process Manager in developing and implementing strategies for plant modifications, optimizations, and capacity increases.

  • Process Optimization: Contribute to process and facility optimization, improving safety, quality, and reducing environmental and energy impacts.

  • Waste Management: Ensure waste management according to current regulations.

  • Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning of existing facilities and emission abatement systems.

  • Operating Procedures: Ensure that operating procedures are up-to-date, understood, and adhered to by staff.

  • Incident Analysis: Analyze accidents and unsafe conditions, organizing working groups to resolve non-conformities.

  • Staff Training: Ensure continuous staff training, especially when procedures or duties change.

  • Quality: Support site quality programs as a member of the Site Leadership Team.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • Chemical Engineering Master’s degree, 5+ years OPS experience, proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety.

  • Project management skills.

  • Ability to use effective trouble-shooting skills.

  • Strong Lean Manufacturing orientation.

  • Strong EHS/Process Safety and Quality mindset and customer orientation.

  • Change Management expertise.

  • Ability to coach and mentor employees as essential skills for guiding and developing the team .

  • Excellent communication and people skills.

The following are preferred for the role:

  • CI BB Certified, 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
