The role

We are recruiting for a Production Manager to join our Actuarial Reporting Team to provide a professional service applying actuarial, technical & business knowledge to support the delivery of informed & effective decision making in order to deliver the company strategy.

This position is a key management role within the Actuarial Services Team overseeing the team producing key inputs and running of our Actuarial Finance Systems reporting into the Head of Production. You will lead a team of c.20 Analysts, Technicians and IT specialists to follow set processes to produce Assumptions Inputs, Economic Scenarios and running our MG-ALFA system platform. The role will work closely with the Model Run Performance Manager and a number of stakeholders across the business to schedule and delivery quality results.

Key responsibilities will include you owning the delivery of Economic Scenarios, Assumptions and model runs for a range of valuation reporting needs. This will include quarterly reporting, additional sensitivities and supporting projects where required. You will also take ownership of the control framework within the team ensuring all processes and analysis meets the Risk Management Framework. You will be required to regularly work to defined and tight timescales whilst maintaining professional standards and will need to balance business demand, issues and risks by applying sound judgement in complex scenarios, often with considerable uncertainty. You will represent the Head of Actuarial Services in key project meetings and must look to continually enhance processes and procedures to deliver effective solutions for the business. You will also be required to lead, develop, coach and mentor actuarial trainees and analysts as required to maximise their contribution and ensure they are fairly rewarded.

What are we looking for?

We would like you to have knowledge of actuarial reporting concepts and key reporting metrics, with prior experience of working within a Finance or Actuarial department. It isn’t essential for you to be a Qualified Actuary however you will need an Undergraduate Degree (or equivalent). You will also need to have experience of managing a team and have the ability to work collaboratively to build virtual teams to deliver challenging goals under time pressure. For this, you will need strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
