Production Manager
Job Summary
Production duties
- Promote Health & Safety at all times, by encouraging safe behaviors, safe culture & leadership, safe working environment and implementing and controlling strict and efficient EHS processes to follow group standards and local regulations.
- Meet the shift production goals following production planning, procedures and products specification and quality requirements to achieve required output and quality on time.
- Ensure production is in accordance with ISO and IATF qualified management systems.
- Organize the resources (process operators, filling line operators and day staff) needed for producing the product according to the planning at required level and qualification.
- Maintain the production equipment in good condition in collaboration with the Maintenance Department.
- Coordinate production start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers.
- Responsible for preparing the production budget and ensure costs remain within the budgeted amount.
- Responsible to make process adjustments as necessary during to produce within specifications and reject product outside specifications.
- Participates actively to the development of new products by bringing technical support and expertise.
- Develops Continuous improvement.
Staff management
- Organize and coach the production staff team for efficient support of the production shifts to meet the goals of the production department with a strong safety and continuous improvement culture.
- Responsible for the team working under defined procedures and Health & Safety rules.
- Participate in the development, revision and updating of role descriptions and responsibility for each standing, temporary, replacement and consultants positions necessary for the achievement of objectives set by their direct superior.
- Set up various goals for each member of the team within a climate of accountability and support for everyone.
- Develop and follow up different objectives for each employee of his team.
- Manage shift schedule including work assignments/rotations, training and working time schedule.
- Develop and monitor training plans.
- Train & coach production line employees.
- Follow up critical operations and ensure procedures and activities are carried out correctly.
- Manage teams efficiently in case of dangerous situations. In order to follow this aim could be it’s necessary to hire, develop and give appropriate training to his/her subordinates to accomplish these kinds of situations.
- Carry out personnel management and respect of the company rules within a climate of collaboration.
- Manage employees according to the collective agreement, the labor standards and/or any other existing government agencies.
- Close collaboration with the HR department about working procedures and methods in order to develop and maintain high quality selecting criteria for staff and long-term retention.
- Ensures tight coordination with stakeholders both within other departments on site and within the division.
- Interact permanently with maintenance, quality, engineering, process, supply chain and controlling.
- Actively support the projects managers in production capacities designing/engineering.
Education and Experience requirements
- Engineering degree: Master in industrial or mechanical or process engineering
- Demonstrated understanding of chemical processing, engineering, chemistry, strong problem-solving skills is a plus.
- Experience in a similar industrial environment.
- Experience in working with shifts in a 24/7 regime.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, any other language is a plus.
