Job Responsabilities:

As a product reliability test engineer at EssilorLuxottica, you will play an essential position in improving the durability and reliability of EL’s products under various conditions. Your responsibilities include creating tests plans, studying check outcomes, figuring out failure modes and recommending layout improvements.

You will support the qualification of new innovative eyeglass designs and lens technologies to strengthen the quality & sustainability of EL’s products. You will work closely with the design engineer and manufacturing quality manager ensuring that our products meet or exceed customer expectations.

Strong analytical abilities, a hobby to detail and a revel in test method development are important for this feature.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive reliability testing protocols to predict real life behavior of innovative systems and their components
  • Ensuring the reliability and performance of our products through rigorous testing, analysis and implementation of reliability engineering principles
  • Contribute to the improvement of the latest test methodologies 
  • Analyze test data and generate detailed reports providing recommendations for design and process improvements
  • Develop and maintain documentation for testing procedures, test results and reliability analysis
  • Monitor field performance data & customer feedback to identify trends and drive continuous improvements efforts
  • Collaborate with design, engineering and production teams to integrate reliability considerations into product designs and manufacturing processes.

Candidate Profile:

  • Master of Science Degree or higher in reliability with 3-5 years of experience in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation & Materials, or Instrumentation & Optics related to multilayer architecture materials, such as used in packaging or microelectronics
  • Advanced experience in failure advanced characterization on multilayer architecture materials
  • Solid experience with Weibull analysis (reliability prediction), Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and physics of failure
  • Advanced skills in data analysis tools (MATLAB, Python), any one reliability software
  • Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
  • Very good understanding of relevant test standards used in industry (ISO, ASTM, ….), build a network of useful partners
  • Intellectual curiosity to knowhow to search beyond immediate knowledge
  • Critical thinking to question oneself, practice permanent doubt
  • Ability to work in uncertainty to take on with trial & error in research
  • Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong written & verbal communication abilities to bring take a lead at outcomes & technical data
  • Motived self-starter, goal oriented and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationship and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
  • Ability to manner & summarize complex facts efficiently
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables simultaneously
