In this role, you’ll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world.​ Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a successful Product Manager in IBM CIC, you will lead a team of technical experts to ensure the formulation, development, and implementation of projects that meet and exceed the client’s business objectives. In this role, you will work closely with client stakeholders and the IBM team to meet the overall integrated solution plan, budget, schedule, and staffing requirements while exceeding your client’s expectations. Project Management: Creating and executing project management plans including, financial, scope, and change, deliverables and communication controls.

Cross-Team Communication: Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the client, partner, and account team on project status.

Reporting and Metrics Management: Report and strategize solutions for managing project metrics including project health, financials-costs, revenue, and gross profit, team productivity, and client satisfaction.

Building Credibility and Influences: Navigating across venues to resolve issues, developing and documenting risk mitigation strategies, providing project direction that quickly builds credibility and influences as a trusted advisor.

Developing a high-performing team: Cultivating teamwork and problem-solving while working under delivery expectations and deadlines.

Empathy and Service Skills: Demonstrating empathy and service orientation skills for client success.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

A Product Manager will:

  • Champion a product-led delivery ensuring that all work supports a clear value case.

  • Collaborating with customer teams and broader stakeholders to articulate the product vision, strategy, roadmap, measures of success, dashboards, and performance framework.

  • Creating and maintaining the Product Backlog and Roadmap, describing how the value and vision will be realized.

  • Maintaining transparency among stakeholders, the product team, and Digital Platforms regarding quality and timescale expectations.

  • Ensure the service delivers the policy intent.

  • Advocate User needs, including accessibility.

  • Prioritise user stories for each work sprint.

  • Input to technical, content, and design solutions.

  • Manage dependencies/constraints, e.g. external interface development.

  • Agree with the customer when story outcomes are complete.

  • Actively participate in customer craft communities, sharing IBM best practices and thought leadership.

  • The Product Manager will be pivotal across the product development lifecycle with evolving responsibilities.

  • During the Discovery phase, they will drive the work of the multi-disciplinary team to identify user needs, and potential solutions, own and prioritize the feature backlog, and lead the development of a Product Roadmap which will maximize value delivery and ROI.

  • They will work closely with the development teams during Alpha and Beta to ensure that the value case for each epic and feature is clearly understood, ensuring that value realization occurs during the build phases.

  • At Go-Live they will constantly monitor product performance via KPIs and use this insight to drive improvements or additions to maximize value through continuous delivery.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Certifications for project/program management: Project or program certifications including but not limited to PMP, CMMI, Scrum Master or Aigle Project Management.

  • Technology Expertise: Experience working with a broad spectrum of technology solutions including Data and AI, Automation, Sustainability, Security, Cloud, Power, Storage and zSoftware or equivalent technologies.

  • Consulting Experience in Cloud Solutions: Experience working in consulting or project management for solutions including SaaS / IaaS / PaaS and/or Cloud.

  • Automation Technology experience: Experience with one more of the following Automation technologies: WebSphere Application Server, Extreme Scale, Cloud Pak for Automation, Cloud Pak for Integration, Tivoli Monitoring, Instana, Netcool, Watson AI Ops or Turbonomics or the equivalent enterprise solution.
