The Opportunity: Help Us Build the Future of European Agronomy

My client is a globally active, innovation-led agricultural inputs company with a massive vision but a currently lean footprint in Europe. They are looking for a high-impact Product Development professional to act as our technical anchor in the region.

This is not a “desk job” at a settled corporation. This is a foundational role for a scientifically strong agronomist who thrives on autonomy, enjoys the challenge of scaling a small operation, and is ready to be the face of our technical development across Europe.

Note on Collaboration: This position is offered as an independent consultancy contract. We are looking for a long-term partner who operates with a business-owner mindset to help us establish and grow our European presence.

The Role

You will be the lead architect of their laboratory and field trial programs across Europe. Because they are in a high-growth phase, you will be the “boots on the ground,” translating complex science into field-proven results.

Extensive travel (approx. 50%) is a core component of this role. You will be frequently on-site at research institutions, CROs, and farm trials throughout Spain and broader European markets to ensure our next-generation biologicals perform where it matters most: in the soil.

Key Focus Areas

Expansion & Strategy: Take ownership of the European product roadmap, moving from a small presence to a market contender.

Trial Management: Design and personally oversee field trials for crop nutrition, bio-stimulants, and bio-fertilizers.

Network Building: Actively scout and manage relationships with universities, research institutes, and CRO partners.

Data Translation: Turn raw harvest and soil data into “commercial gold”-technical positioning and recommendations that our sales teams can lean on.

Technical Evangelism: Deliver high-level training and agronomic insights to new partners and early-adopter clients.

Candidate Profile

Expertise: MSc / PhD in Soil Science, Agronomy, or Crop Nutrition (or BSc with significant industry “dirt-under-the-fingernails” experience).

Experience: 5-10 years within crop nutrition or biologicals. You should know the European regulatory and trial landscape
*

Entrepreneurial Spirit: You genuinely enjoy traveling and being in the field. You are comfortable navigating different regions and cultures independently. Since they are small in Europe, you must be self-driven to best help the company grow in the region.

Communication: Fluent in Spanish and English (additional European languages are a major plus).
*

Status: Must be set up to work via a consultancy/B2B contract.
