The post is based in Transport Scotland’s Concessionary Travel and Integrated Ticketing Unit (CTITU) within the Bus, Accessibility and Active Travel (BAAT) Directorate. CTITU was established to undertake and oversee the:

Operation and payments of the concessionary travel schemes

Operation and payments of the Bus Service Operator Grants and / or other operator grants

Delivery of smart and integrated multi-modal ticketing.

The post is within the busy Product, Data and Analysis Team which manages the systems used to deliver the Concessionary Travel schemes and grants and analyses data to ensure data accuracy and system stability. The post holder will have the opportunity to work across the team gaining skills in data analysis, contract management and stakeholder engagement. The team are looking to expand due to the on boarding of the under 22s free bus concessionary travel scheme and the concessionary ferry vouchers moving to smart.

Job description

Contract and Service Monitoring – 

Conduct standard checks on the systems used in the unit to ensure these are functioning as expected within contractual standards, escalating issues as appropriate. Raise and maintain accurate logs to ensure records of checks are retained.

Audit Support – 

Work with the Product Development Officer to complete various audit checks in respect of the internal audit programme. Assist with other aspects of internal audit, including, but not limited to, meeting notes, filing, monitoring outcomes, and record logging.

Work with the Data Assurance Officer, assisting in issue identification and problem solving. Assist with other aspects of the data assurance programme including, but not limited to, filing, mailbox monitoring and responses, standard checks, monitoring outcomes, and record logging.

Analysis Tasks – 

Check reports and monitor data from suppliers. Highlight any issues as appropriate and ensure these are followed up with transport operators and suppliers.

Generate reports for use in data assurance checks, using Microsoft Excel to format and analyse the data to identify anomalies.

Stakeholder Engagement – 

Communicate effectively with transport operators, external suppliers and internal stakeholders. Participate in meetings, generating meeting notes and minutes to be shared with stakeholders. Monitor open helpdesk tickets and ensure responses are followed up where required. Build and maintain effective relationships while ensuring required work is completed. 

Scheme Reporting and Analysis –

In respect of the Ferries scheme, assist with smart ticketing reporting, providing information on scheme usage and ensuring data anomalies are highlighted. Work with the team to support additional scheme or grant reporting as required.

Team Resilience – 

Work with members of the Product, Data and Analysis Team to cover standard tasks across the team as required. Including, but not limited to, filing, mailbox monitoring, police requests, and data reporting, logging and checking.
