  • You hold a M.Sc. or equivalent in business or engineering
  • You have min 3 years of professional procurement or supply chain experience
  • You are structured and have an analytical mindset
  • Some prior experience from a GMP regulated industry are beneficial but not a prerequisite
  • You can build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all organisational levels
  • You are fully proficient in English

The positionAs our new Procurement and Category Manager, you will be bridging the need for specific skills in the organization with the supplier base of expertise. You will understand the business need and through your comprehensive knowledge about the suppliers, you can make the best possible fit.Your focus area will be:

  • Supplier relationship: You will further foster close relationships with suppliers within the field of technical consultancy services. On a continuous basis you will evaluate the performance of your supplier base and discuss if we have the right competencies within the portfolio of consultancy suppliers.
  • Stakeholder management: You will interact closely with key cross-functional Novo Nordisk stakeholders to ensure the right approach for sourcing of consultancy services compared to current and future needs. This means, ensuring we have the best technology available, always fulfilling high quality standards, reducing risks, minimising our environmental footprint, and having competitive commercial terms. Something which can only be achieved through good relationships and finding solutions which benefit all parties.
  • Process improvement: As the need for consultancy services increases across the organization you will continuously improve the underlying contract and procurement processes to ensure that they are as streamlined as possible.

Sounds interesting?Then keep on reading how a day could look like…You start the day by reading an e-mail from a stakeholder that needs your help to identify possible suppliers to support with unique competences within a crucial investment project. She wants to set up a meeting to introduce you to the project and discuss possibilities to identify those skills from your supplier base.Afterwards it is time for the daily team touch point where you have a power break session with stretching exercises. Besides moving your body, you look very much forward to catching up with your colleagues. You mention the new project that you just heard about this morning and have a chat with your colleagues to leverage on their experience. You get plenty of good input from more senior and more junior colleagues on the topic.Thereafter you have a meeting with an engineering supplier that wants to discuss with you a revision of the commercial conditions of an existing frame agreement. In preparation for the meeting, you get an overview of the different frame agreement rates in the consultancy category files. The supplier asks you in the meeting to increase rates way more than other suppliers have. You agree with the supplier that they will need to investigate their forecast and come back to you with a detailed breakdown of the different rates and a suggestion for the adjustments to these.You end your day with joining one of the more experienced category managers to one of their supplier meetings to learn how they drive the continuous dialogue on strategic collaborations with regards to new technologies and automatization. For that you are also visiting one of the supplier’s productions sites a little outside of the Copenhagen area.About the departmentInvestment | Engineering & Sourcing (IES) is part of the Product Supply organisation.
