The Position

As a Process Scientist for QC laboratory, you will be securing the best medicine for our patients in a team of 20 colleagues of both other scientists and laboratory technicians. You will be the main go-to person for the HPLC analyses of our products and collaborate with other QC laboratories in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) production.

Our team is cooperating with other laboratory teams in the department and the Insulin API Manufacturing 1 (M1) production plant. 

The main tasks will be to:
•    Coordinate cross-departmental tasks on behalf of the department.
•    Provide support to the lab technicians.
•    Optimize processes, implement changes and handle deviations.
•    Work with Lean and data analysis.

The position is temporary for a period of 1,5 years.
  
Qualifications

The qualifications we value include having:
•    A min. master’s degree in natural sciences, engineering, pharmacology or similar.
•    GMP experience and knowledge about cLEAN.
•    Experience with HPLC analysis in the laboratory from the pharmaceutical industry or another GMP-regulated environment, as well as QC compliance experience, which is considered a plus.
•    Professional proficiency in written and verbal English and Danish.

Being able to work independently in a structured way whilst still being a strong team player – both within the team but also in work relations across the department and area is key to succeed in this role. 

Having the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with a proactive approach and to take on responsibility, while seeing possibilities instead of limitations is crucial part of our daily tasks. To be successful in the position, it is of highest importance to juggle priorities easily and independently, without disrupting the flow of tasks.

About the Department

In Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), located in Kalundborg, we produce insulin and GLP-1 to help people living with chronical diseases like diabetes and obesity. We always have many exciting projects across Novo Nordisk – some require entirely new setups to utilize the opportunities in contemporary technology, while other are more focused on optimizing existing setups.
 
Insulin Manufacturing 1 in Kalundborg is the world’s largest insulin factory. We produce the active ingredients which are the main component in many of Novo Nordisk’s products including our new oral product Rybelsys(R) for which we have high expectations. M1 is unique as we have the entire production chain gathered under one roof.

The QC department in IM1 consists of 5 teams and consists of approximately 60 colleagues all in all. We develop best in a safe working environment hence we continuously focus on well-being and a positive as well as engaging workplace.
