Are you an experienced Neurotechnology researcher who enjoys working in a collaborative, supportive and highly multidisciplinary environment?We’re establishing a world-leading research Institute, and we want you to be a part of it.About the roleThe at the University of Bath is seeking to appoint a Prize Fellow in Neurotechnology to undertake excellent research and to further advance our strategic opportunity.We are looking for an outstanding researcher to join an expanding and ambitious Institute, shape the technology of the future in a vibrant and inclusive environment, and contribute to the success of the Institute.Responsibilities will include:

  • conducting high quality research
  • securing funding via grants and/or fellowship applications
  • developing international research links
  • promoting research in the subject area, including public engagement

This role is a 4-year Fellowship after which you are expected to then transfer to an open-ended Lectureship based within the Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering.Interviews will be held on the 21st and 23rd of January 2025.About youOur ideal candidate will have:

  • a track record in Neurotechnology
  • well-developed plans for a substantial future project
  • the potential to develop a significant research portfolio
  • a PhD and an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject
  • ability to demonstrate a clear fit for your research to the institute’s research vision and mission, including the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in your research area
  • a growing publication record and international reputation appropriate to your career stage
  • the potential for winning and delivering on research grants

Through your research, you will be passionate about addressing the future challenges of human-machine-interfacing technology to improve wellbeing, health & performance at the individual and societal level.In particular, you should have research experience (or potential) of a range of human augmentation technologies – for example brain-computer interfaces or neuromodulation, and a curiosity about the interface between neurotechnology and at least one of the Institute’s other thematic areas (Wearables and Biosensors; Exoskeletons, Robotics and Prostheses; VR/AR, and/or Virtual Digital Assistant).You will be a kind and culturally aware leader who fosters an environment where every individual is valued & respected, regardless of their background, identity or dis/ability.
