Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/.Open position: Privacy Specialist – BeneluxType of contract: Full-time, unlimitedThe Privacy Specialist will play a meaningful role in supporting the implementation and management of the privacy compliance program for Johnson & Johnson’s Innovative Medicine and MedTech Companies in Belgium and the Netherlands. In this role you will support the Senior Privacy Manager Benelux to ensure alignment with the strategic needs and priorities of the business functions and the Global Privacy Organization (GPO). This position entails diverse responsibilities across various domains including but not limited to R&D, Human Resources, Marketing & Sales, Customer Support, Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Procurement, Clinical Operations and Security ensuring adherence to our internal policies and applicable data protection laws.The position is multifaceted and engaging, and also includes a flexible Work From Home policy, allowing for up to two days of remote work per week, with offices in Beerse and Diegem (Belgium), or in Breda and Leiden (the Netherlands) serving as the primary locations for teamwork and support. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deploy and supervise the local privacy program, in line with our policies
  • Align with partners to ensure processing activities align with our polices, and applicable privacy laws and regulations;
  • Inform and make your partner aware of their responsibilities and obligations and help them cultivate a culture of compliance;
  • Identify privacy risks and challenges, including through Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), brought to you by the colleagues you support, and provide advise that helps them deploy privacy-by-design solutions;
  • Provide data and input to the regional privacy teams to ensure that the privacy risks in our sectors are addressed in the overall privacy compliance strategy;
  • Collaborate with J&J Technology (JJT) & Information Security & Risk Management (ISRM) on compliance assessments;
  • Provide assistance to the Global Legal Organization, Global Clinical Operations, Procurement and other local contracting organizations, if needed, with the review of among others: supplier agreements, informed consent forms, clinical trial agreements;
  • Assist the EU Data Protection Officer with the fulfilment of legal obligations under GDPR, in particular art. 30 and 35 GDPR;
  • Build and maintain knowledge about the legal environment and assesses impact of changes in laws to the privacy program;
  • Support the Benelux Snr. Privacy Manager with education, training, and communications on privacy compliance to relevant employees and partners;
  • Manage privacy incidents when required and liaises with the Johnson & Johnson Data Breach Response Team;
  • Process data subject requests and complaints;
  • Act as a point of contact to the data protection authorities and individuals in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg;
  • Effectively engage with GPO and participate to its information sessions, to ensure maximal alignment with our internal policies;
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree

Experience and Skills:Required:

  • You have 3 years of prior experience in a privacy/data protection role, with good knowledge of the Belgian or Dutch data protection legislation, preferably within large multinational companies;
  • Must be based in Belgium or the Netherlands;
  • Experience within health care industry and its businesses, or global technology company;
  • Familiarity with the roll out of privacy compliance programs;
  • Proven understanding of privacy by design, IT systems, processes, and information security practices;
  • Strong change, project management and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to deal optimally with all levels of an organization;
  • Ability to maintain the highest standards of quality, compliance and accountability;
  • Ability to translate a wide variety of principles and sometimes complex technical requirements into actionable solutions for the business;
  • Excellent organizational, facilitation, communication, and presentation skills;
  • Global approach and preparedness to incorporate global standards and practices;
  • Results driven;
  • Ability to work independently and to work as part of a team
  • Ability for limited travel required

Preferred:

  • CIPP/E, CIPP/T certification

Other:

  • Proficient in English and in Dutch (verbal and written). French independent language skills are a plus;
  • Travel percentage – 10%.
