Meta seeks a highly motivated, well-organized, team player to join our growing policy team in the European region. The position will support the Privacy and Public Policy team’s work on strategic engagement and outreach with privacy and data protection policy stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a strong background in privacy and data protection, with a strong grasp on European privacy legal and policy issues such as the GDPR, ePrivacy and the new EU digital laws (AI Act, DSA, DMA etc.). The candidate should have excellent analytical skills and be a strong writer, with experience in developing materials for internal audiences as well as privacy regulators, policymakers and other relevant stakeholders. The candidate would also have deep knowledge of and relationships with regulators, key advocacy groups, policymakers, academics, and researchers in the region. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional work environment and presenting to internal and external audiences. This is a great opportunity to work on novel public policy issues in an exciting environment.Privacy Policy Manager, Eastern Europe ResponsibilitiesSupport engagement activities in the Eastern European region, working closely with a global advocacy team on data and privacy policy issuesAnalyze legislative and regulatory proposals concerning privacy, data protection, data security and other related technology issuesWork with cross-functional teams to develop and articulate the company’s positions on key privacy and data protection issues in the form of internal briefing documents , position papers, and related documentsAssist in designing and executing high impact policy strategies and programmatic initiatives in the European regionLiaise with internal and external stakeholdersRepresent Meta at meetings and conferences where appropriateMinimum Qualifications8+ years experience working on data protection and privacy legal and policy issues in a privacy regulator, law firm, company, non-profit or similar organizationHighly-organised and detail-orientedExperience communicating effectivelyHigh degree of flexibility, willingness to travel and to work on a wide variety of legal and policy mattersKnowledge of and interest in technologies and devices and of Meta products and platformAnalytical skillsPreferred QualificationsManagerial experienceLaw DegreeExcellent academic credentialsLocationsAbout MetaMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
