About the Role

The UX Principal first and foremost a designer, but who understands and can work in complex subject areas, can establish and drive a clear vision and unite stakeholders and partners to execute on that vision.

This is an opportunity to work as a Principal UX Designer on the UX Design team. We are looking for a seasoned, experienced designer who has a strong knowledge of design and user research and has demonstrated their skills embedding these methodologies into teams to help them design better customer-focused digital products.

Key responsibilities include:

-Can lead design research projects with customers, from planning with business stakeholders, conducting with customers, and analysing, so that problems and opportunities are clearly framed.
-Can connect customer-centred design to the business and customer context, including business requirements and regulatory constraints, to create services and features which deliver for both the customer and the bank.
-Is proactive in pushing a customer-first agenda and can influence senior stakeholders and partners from around the business on the importance of thinking and acting with a customer-first mindset so that our various customer journeys are best-in-class and the envy of our competitors.
-Can facilitate, develop, articulate, and unite a diverse range of stakeholders (business, technical, compliance) for the purpose of driving a high-quality human-centred, customer-first experience vision.
-Can build and nurture relationships with product, technology, marketing, and business stakeholders and negotiate and collaborate with them to deliver successful customer journeys in payments, transactions, budgeting, saving, and investing
-Can ultimately help us elevate and mature the practice of UX design at AIB
 

Your day-to-day:

-Provides clarity and direction and inspires confidence for business stakeholders and partners by facilitating conversations and workshops to understand their domain and clarify scope, constraints, requirements and business needs to help create a shared understanding and vision.
-Working closely as a trusted partner, further develops a shared understanding via analysis of the business goals and customer through research. Presents this understanding to key business stakeholders (e.g. everyday banking, deposits, loans, mortgages) via customer journey maps, prototypes to give clarity, confidence, and direction for successful customer experiences within our digital channels (mobile, internet banking, website) and beyond (conversational AI, phone support and branch).
-Creates detailed conceptual models, information architecture, taxonomies, navigation flows user flows, navigation and interaction models for key products to help other teams deliver superior, successful customer outcomes
-Collaborates and directs other designers to increase the quality of their work
 

What you will bring:

-7-10+ years of experience in UX design
-Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user-centred design, design research (qualitative), interaction and UI design.
-Platform-specific interface design patterns and standards (e.g. IOS/Android/Web)
-Designing and developing mobile and web applications
-Design language and design systems
-Experience leading small design teams in large, strategic projects
-Excellent facilitation, communication and presentation skills
-Has a track record of creating and leading design work with measureable outcomes for customers and impacts for the business
-Proficiency in several design tools is nice to have (e.g. Figma, Sketch) but they can be learned relatively quickly.
