Måløv, Denmark

We are seeking a Principal Scientist with deep expertise in chromatographic separation science to drive analytical excellence across complex drug modalities and oral drug product development. In this role, you will lead the development of advanced analytical methodologies and contribute strategically to the progression of innovative drug candidates.

Your new position

As a Principal Scientist, you will serve as a technical expert within chromatographic separation science, leading the development and application of cutting-edge analytical methodologies for complex modalities, including peptides and proteins.

You will drive analytical strategies with a focus on separation challenges in complex formulation matrices, in particular oral drug delivery systems, ensuring robust data generation to support critical project decisions.

This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic influence, where you will shape scientific direction, solve highly complex analytical challenges, and contribute to the continuous advancement of analytical capabilities across projects.

Key responsibilities include:

style=”margin-top:0.0cm;margin-bottom:0.0cm” type=”disc”-
-Define and lead analytical strategies focused on chromatographic separation of complex drug modalities
-Design, develop, and optimise chromatographic methods for challenging drug product matrices within oral drug delivery
-Lead complex problem-solving related to separation, resolution, and quantification in heterogeneous systems
-Act as a subject matter expert in separation science, influencing project direction and scientific decision-making
-Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to align analytical insights with project needs
-Contribute to strategic planning and prioritisation of analytical activities across projects
-Advance analytical capabilities through the introduction of new methodologies, technologies, and best practices
-Mentor and support the development of colleagues

Your new department

You will join a science-driven environment where innovation, technical depth, and knowledge sharing are highly valued. You will collaborate closely with experts across the research value chain.

Our team plays a critical role in enabling research projects through advanced analytical capabilities and by pushing the boundaries of separation science. We are a dedicated team of 7 scientists and 4 laboratory technicians supporting drug candidate selection across the early research portfolio in the department Analysis & Separation, Novo Nordisk R&D.

Your skills & qualifications

style=”margin-top:0.0cm;margin-bottom:0.0cm” type=”disc”-
-PhD with 6+ years or Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience in analytical separation sciences within commercial pharmaceutical drug development
-Recognised expertise in chromatographic separation science with a strong track record of solving advanced analytical challenges
-Extensive hands-on experience with advanced chromatographic techniques applied to peptides, proteins, and other complex drug modalities
-Proven ability to develop robust separation methods for complex and heterogeneous samples
-Experience with oral drug product analysis
-Demonstrated ability to lead analytical initiatives and drive scientific direction
-Broad understanding of the end-to-end drug development value chain, with the ability to translate analytical insights into project and development impact
-Strong problem-solving skills with a hypothesis-driven and data-centric approach
-Demonstrated track record through publications, patents, or contributions to drug product development

You are driven by scientific curiosity and enjoy tackling analytical challenges that others find difficult to solve. Moreover, you enjoy working closely with colleagues, exchanging ideas, and contributing to a strong scientific community.

You take pride in helping others grow by sharing knowledge and mentoring less experienced colleagues.

As a person, you are proactive, open-minded, and comfortable navigating complex scientific discussions and changing priorities. You communicate clearly and build relationships across functions and disciplines.
