Principal Scientist, Translational DMPK
Are you enthusiastic about large molecule drug discovery and have experience as a DMPK project representative? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Join our dynamic Research organization at Lundbeck in Copenhagen as a Principal Scientist in Translational DMPK.
Your new role
As a Principal Scientist, you will play an important role in guiding the optimization and characterization of new compounds within our discovery programs. You will collaborate closely with DMPK colleagues and discovery partners, participating in small, multi-disciplinary drug discovery project teams.
Your involvement will span the entire DMPK discovery value chain, from pharmacokinetic screening at early lead stage to mechanistic and translational investigations at the candidate selection stage, with a focus on our large molecule discovery portfolio.
Your scientific expertise and collaborative spirit will be crucial in generating and interpreting valuable DMPK data to advance our programs.
Your future team
In our department, we collaborate closely with various Research functions, including antibody discovery and engineering, medicinal and computational chemistry, pharmacology, and toxicology, to discover and optimize new molecules for CNS diseases. Our team is contributing and influencing the optimization of the DMPK properties of both small and large molecules, from early target validation studies through Lead Optimization to selection, profiling, and risk assessment of clinical drug candidates.
We are a diverse group of 14 skilled DMPK and bioanalysis scientists, lab technicians, and students working together across projects. Our DMPK research studies and assays are conducted in-house in modern DMPK and bioanalysis laboratories, as well as at specialized CROs around the world.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated research team committed to optimizing DMPK properties and enhancing the understanding of translation to humans for new molecules targeting CNS diseases.
The position is based at Lundbeck’s headquarters in Valby, Copenhagen.
What you bring to the team
The position requires close scientific and operational coordination within the department as well as close collaboration with discovery project teams and other stakeholders in Research. You enjoy the combination of cross-functional project work, hands-on data analysis, and contributing to devising and implementing DMPK strategies. Further qualifications include:
-PhD in relevant subject plus at least 6 years of experience in the field of small or large molecule DMPK in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
-Experience as DMPK project representative with ability to facilitate DMPK discovery strategies within large molecule-based research projects such as antibodies
-Expertise with PK analysis of biologics is required as well as understanding of biologics PK/PD reasoning. Knowledge within analytical assays for measuring biologic molecules and biomarkers using mass spectrometry assays in preclinical study samples is desired
