Job Description:Will you help our clients unlock the solutions they need to their complex technical challenges that are foundational in addressing the needs of a growing world?Wood is recruiting for a Principal Process Engineer to support the Technology and Consulting business, with expertise in Chemical technologies. The position will be based in Corsico (Milan) office, with the possibility to work from home up to two days per week. Limited travelling will be required, predominantly for Client’s alignment meetings.The RoleThe role will report to the Senior Manager of Process & Chemicals Technical Consulting business line in the Milan office, which executes activities ranging from pre-feasibility studies to basic design and pre-FEED, in various market sectors, including both the traditional sectors and, predominantly, the Energy Transition markets, like Renewable Energy, Carbon Capture, Biofuels, Blue and Bio-hydrogen, E-fuels, etc.A key focus for the role will be the technical delivery in the Chemicals sector, more specifically on Ammonia and Methanol production technologies..As a Principal Process Engineer you will provide technology expertise within Technical Consulting relating to the preparation of proposals and execution of studies and projects in the Chemicals market sector .Focusing on technical project delivery, you will be a key member to develop the technoeconomic solution that guides your client to successfully achieve the next stage in their decision gate process.Our Clients and ProjectsIt’s a future for all of us.   • Coordinate the team of Process Engineers assigned to the specific project; a multi-delivery project is expected.
  • Coordinate with the Client personnel as requested along the development of the project.
  • Demonstrate customer focus and be aware of, and respond to, customer needs, whilst still achieving project and corporate objectives.
  • Identify issues and propose solutions using innovative and novel solutions, plus ability to grasp unfamiliar concepts.
  • Check / Review / Approve or even carry out process calculations, simulations, heat & material balances, process flow diagrams, data sheets and other process deliverables, in agreement with the process standards and the applicable project norms.
  • Review and comment documents from Licensors and Vendors.
  • Interact with the other Engineering Disciplines as necessary to prepare the Process deliverables and ensure their follow-up.
  • Prepare summary reports and presentations.
  • Run preliminary financial models to assess and compare various technology options.
  • Support the development of compelling and competitive proposals that readily demonstrate to Clients the best way to deliver their project.

  • MSc degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 10 / 15 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on Methanol and Ammonia production technologies
  • Technology and Consulting oriented
  • Passionate of Technologies and of the Energy Transition
  • Capable to coordinate and motivate a team of engineers
  • Excellent technical background in the same role
  • Proven strong experience in the role
  • Availability to accept responsibilities
  • Flexibility to cope with project and Company needs
  • Client focus and attitude to team work
  • Fluent in English
  • Knowledge of process simulators
  • Time management
  • Problem solving
