Apply now for a life-changing career!The positionAs a Principal Patent Attorney with primary focus on external innovations, you will play a critical role in managing IP aspects of acquisition/licensing deals as well as strategic R&D collaborations. Your expertise will help protect our R&D investments and maximize the value of acquired/licensed assets. You will work closely with Legal, Business Development, R&D and Integration teams, ensuring that our IP position is aligned with our business needs.Your key responsibilities will include:IP Due Diligence (DD) evaluation of patent portfolios and freedom-to-operate situation for companies/assets is scope for acquisition or licensing, including management of outside counsel supporting the IP DDIP counselling to internal stakeholders managing strategic R&D partnershipsArticulation of IP risks and opportunities to DD teams, deal groups and senior managementOnboarding of acquired/licensed IP, including establishment of operating model, portfolio review and database integrationDeveloping and refining department processes related to IP DD and integration, and occasionally, facilitating other IP departments with patent drafting and prosecutionQualificationsWe are looking for a candidate with below qualifications:European Patent Attorney or US Patent Attorney qualificationExperience with IP DD and integration in the pharma, healthcare or life science industryProficiency in translating IP DD findings into clear business advice and experience in leveraging IP insights and patent analysis to reinforce business decisionsAs a person, you enjoy working in interdisciplinary/cross-functional team, and demonstrate an independent work ethic and project management approach, enabling you to balance multiple tasks and projects with constantly evolving priorities. Finally, you have exceptional communications skills, and building relationships comes naturally to you.About the departmentCorporate Intellectual Property is located in Bagsværd and part of Novo Nordisk’s Global Legal Intellectual Property & Security organisation. The Danish part of the IP organisation comprises more than 30 dedicated patent attorneys and administrators and is globally responsible for the largest part of the Novo Nordisk IP portfolio. The position is located in Patents Business Development, a department responsible for IP matters related to external innovation.The management team is dedicate to listening and will do their best to make sure that you have the tools and knowledge needed to succeed and excel in your role and to facilitate collaboration with our dedicated and experienced stakeholders.
