Job description
Main Responsibilities
- Define internal MEMS sensor specifications and qualification requirements based on target applications.
- Deliver inertial MEMS accelerometer and gyroscope sensor designs to meet target specifications with documented mechanical and electrical performance data and DFMEA analysis.
- Collaborate with electronic designers, process engineers and test engineers to review and optimize sensor performance.
- Work with FA and quality engineers to diagnose engineering issues using problem solving and analytical methods to determine and address the root causes.
- Mentor junior engineers on motion sensor design
Skills/QualificationsEssential
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in inertial MEMS devices development, and familiarity with the trade-offs between design and fabrication/packaging.
- Experience in architecture, design, characterization and validation of motion sensing systems.
- Degree in relevant subject, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, etc.
- Strong track record in failure mode analysis and developing solutions that meet target sensor requirements
- 5+ years of industrial experience at senior engineer level or higher
Desirable
- Already working at principal or senior principal level (or be a highly experienced senior engineer ready to step up to principal)
- Strong awareness of Intellectual Property (IP)
- System level expertise in MEMS inertial sensors (MEMS, electronics, packaging, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience of the characterization procedures and associated characterization hardware for inertial MEMS devices
- PhD in MEMS, advantageously on inertial sensor / system design, or equivalent additional industrial experience
- 5+ years of experience in a high volume production environment for inertial MEMS
