Principal Regulatory Environmental Fate Scientist
NonStop Consulting is looking for a client company a Principal Regulatory Environmental Fate Scientist.
The company in question is a market leader in the development and registration of off-patent crop protection products (PPP) with a an integrated R&D team of laboratory and regulatory scientists.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental fate risk assessments for chemical active substances and experience in drafting Registration Reports.
Core Responsibilities:
* Environmental exposure modelling of pesticides in the environment (groundwater, soil and surface water bodies by drift, deposition etc).
* Running all core EU models including SWASH steps 1-4, PEARL, PELMO, PERSAM etc.
* Refining risk assessments with higher tier models and refinement tools including SWAN.
* Interpretation of all key EU guidance and regulations for 1107/2009 such as FOCUS landscape and mitigation, surface water and groundwater scenarios etc.
* Drafting position papers and bespoke refinement strategies.
* Building creative technical solutions to unique scientific issues for environmental risk assessments.
* Commissioning and management of GLP studies elucidating the behaviour of active substances/metabolites in soil, water and sediment.
* Derivation of endpoints including soil half-lives, adsorption parameters and kinetics based on EU and higher tier data.
* Carrying out national requirement modelling for core markets including the UK, Germany and France.
* Writing national addenda.
* Writing draft Registration Reports to support product applications.
* Working closely, especially with eco-tox colleagues, to tackle environmental risk assessment issues.
* Training and mentoring junior staff in fate.
Qualifications and Experience required:
* Range of 5 to 10 years of experience in environmental fate of agrochemicals
* Highly proficient in environmental exposure modelling of pesticides in the environment (groundwater, soil and surface water bodies by drift, deposition etc).
* Familiar with all core EU models including SWASH steps 1-4, PEARL, PELMO, PERSAM etc.
* Experienced in refining risk assessments with higher tier models and refinement tools including SWAN.
* Detailed knowledge of national requirements across the EU.
* Proven track record in risk assessment in core EU markets, particularly France and Germany.
* Must have experience in preparing draft Registration Reports and national addenda for UK, Germany and France.
* Excellent attention to detail is a must.
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work in an environment with shifting priorities.
* Proactively seek to add value to processes, both existing and new.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* Experience of training and technical mentoring of junior staff is desirable.
* Ability to understand statistical analyses and proficiency in computer programming (for example R, Visual Basic) would be beneficial
Important Requirements:
* Looking for someone ideally from a consulting or agrochemical SME.
* Must be someone who is able to cover the entirety of environmental fate risk assessments and dRR preparation.
* Level of English must be excellent (minimum C1 on the CEFR scale)
Location:
* Home working EU
* Must be willing to travel to the EU Headquarter office periodically
