Job Description:We are looking for a new colleague to join the ‘IT, Security & Data Risk’ team within the second line of defence (‘2LoD’) function at Danske Bank. A key component of this role involves building the procedures and processes for data risk management, including maintaining key risk data that helps 2LoD in monitoring and oversight. Would you like to join us in a principal risk expert role on the journey towards becoming a better bank?You will be responsible for driving, building, and maintaining the risk data foundation for the risk type ‘Data Risk’, as well as communicating with stakeholders on the ongoing work throughout the bank related to Data Management and Data Governance. This role provides a wealth of opportunities to shape the future of this domain within 2LoD.Our focus is on 2LoD risk management responsibilities. By establishing a strong risk culture, we create trust, maintain integrity, and lay the foundation to become the customers’ preferred financial partner.Your role is an integrated part of Non-Financial Risk (NFR), a unit within Group Risk Management (GRM). In NFR, we ensure alignment and consistency within risk frameworks and policies. As a financial institution in a changing environment, we face a range of both external and internal risks. Being compliant and managing risk is our core business. You will enter a role where you hold the responsibility for driving the development and maintenance of data risk monitoring and oversight for the Danske Bank Group. You will be working with other relevant stakeholders in NFR and GRM, who form the basis for risk management from a 2LoD perspective.*Depending on your experience, you may be offered a different seniority of the role.You will:

  • Provide a solid understanding of and guidance within Data Risk Management
  • Implement and maintain a Data Risk Management risk data foundation following sound data management principles
  • Manage and oversee data risk architecture and day-to-day data risk requests
  • Support and advise other business units and risk functions on controls, risk, and governance practices concerning data management, including participation in relevant programs, risk councils, and committees
  • Review the design, implementation, and operational effectiveness of key data management controls
  • Evaluate the data quality in usage and the ability to use data to tell comprehensive data stories
  • Maintain a proactive way of working with good project management and team spirit
  • Perform Data Risk oversight, monitoring, and reporting, including forming risk opinions related to the Group’s current data risk picture
  • Review and challenge Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) and New & Amended Product Approvals (NAPA) for Data risks

About you:

  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role as a lead, or alternatively, in a relevant role that provides you with solid understanding and insights
  • Proven understanding of data risk management, data management, data governance, and regulatory requirements such as BCBS239, EBA Guidelines, and The Executive Order for Management and Control of Banks, with the ability to use these skills together in day-to-day work to solve problems and help scale the risk oversight area
  • Data management experience, e.g., master data management or data architecture, from a large international organization (e.g., Big Four consultancy firms or financial institutions)
  • Relevant university degree or equivalent, e.g., within Technology domains or experience
  • Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced skills in English, both spoken and written
  • Relevant certification, such as any one of these: CDMP, DGSP, CIMP
  • Risk experience and knowledge of BCBS 239 is desirable

Your title in job contract will be Specialist – Risk, Principal.This position can be located both in Lithuania and Denmark.
