Your new role – why is this a great opportunity?

As Research Informatics Specialist in the department of Research Informatics at Lundbeck you will work closely with Lundbeck’s research scientists.

-You will collaborate and solve operational and scientific day-to-day issues.
-You will be maintaining and configuring commercial applications in collaboration with internal users and key vendors in the market.
-You will contribute to our data and system architecture and actively be involved in discussions to secure that our Research Informatics platform meets Lundbeck’s needs for FAIR data.
-You will be engaged in requirements gathering, participate in software evaluations, and be actively involved in software implementation projects.
-You will bring informatics expertise to support our scientists and to meet Lundbeck’s long term needs for efficient data handling and result generation.
-You will use a broad range of technologies and tools to develop in-house systems and integrations.
-You will report to the head of Research Informatics and interact closely with other research departments, Global IT as well as external IT partners and Contract Research Organizations.
 

Your future team

In the department of Research Informatics, we are a team of 6 specialists with various backgrounds and expertise. We are a collaborative team enjoying the switch between urgent problem solving and long-term strategy work. Our mission and goal are to provide FAIR research data and lab efficiency. We own the Research Informatics data platform and are responsible for the operation, development, and implementation of scientific applications within the research organization of Lundbeck.

We are part of the research organization, and we collaborate closely with Global IT, Bioinformatics and Data Science.

The position is based at our headquarters in Valby, Denmark.

 

What you bring to the team

Our preferred candidate has the following professional and personal qualifications:

-University degree in Natural or Computer Science.
-Several years of relevant experience in scientific system provisioning, application support, and software development within pharma or biotech.
-Knowledge within at least one drug discovery domains is essential. These may include in-vivo and in-vitro pharmacology, chemistry, and molecular biology.  
-User-centric focus to support application usage, data governance, and decision making (data visualization and analysis).
-Experience in application back-end-support and configuration. Familiarity with Revvity Signals Notebook, TIBCO Spotfire, and registration tools for chemistry and biologics is valuable. Experience with developing integrations is considered a plus.
-Progamming skills in Python or other modern programming language is required.
-Working experience with data modelling, database design, Oracle SQL, and PL/SQL is essential.
-Ability to communicate effectively with scientists and IT professionals, both in writing and verbal communication.
-Scientific and problem-solving mindset.
-A team player, willing to collaborate, share experiences, and distribute workload within the team.
