ERM is looking to recruit experienced and enthusiastic Principal Consultants with Environmental and Impact Assessment (EIA) skills, and technical and Project Management experience.

For this role we offer flexible working arrangements and, although our main office is in Milan, we are able to accept applications from candidates based anywhere in Italy.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

You will join our growing and successful Capital Projects Delivery team supporting our clients to achieve their strategic goals and growth objectives at every stage of a capital project.

As part of the team, you will support the delivery of large-scale capital development projects, including for oil and gas (with a growing portfolio of decommissioning-related work), renewables and infrastructure sector clients.

This is a truly exciting opportunity to make an impact through your day-to-day work as part of multidisciplinary project teams and network with ERM’s global marine science and impact assessment technical communities, sharing resources and best practice approaches across the industry.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertake EIAs to evaluate and mitigate potential impacts on the marine and land environment from capital development projects.
  • Develop strong relationships and communicate clearly with peers, colleagues, clients and sub-contractors within and outside the Southern Europe Business Unit.
  • Deliver high-quality reporting to meet the needs of our clients and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage a number of projects and proposals both from the project management and the technical point of view.
  • Assist in identifying, securing and managing new opportunities.
  • Support the development of our talented, junior environmental consultants through coaching and mentoring.

About you

We are looking for a subject matter expert in the delivery of EIA work, including screening, scoping and end reporting, including Environmental Statements, Environmental Impact Assessment Reports and supporting documentation.

You will also bring:

  • Substantial experience in environmental consulting, or similar, relevant experience.
  • Technical and project management experience across a range of infrastructure and development sectors.
  • Excellent language skills (English and Italian mandatory).
  • Excellent report writing, data collation and management/presentation skills.
  • Strong motivation to contribute to a team environment, share knowledge, skills and ideas.
  • Geographic Information System (GIS) experience will be evaluated as a plus.
