Principal C++ Software Engineer for Mainframe Team (m/f/x)

Your role at Dynatrace

Our OneAgent is a core part of the Dynatrace Platform that collects all relevant metrics (including hardware, operating system, and application processes) across the customers’ application-delivery chain.

Your job as an Agent developer is to implement new features and improvements to monitor critical customer applications and platforms.

What will help you succeed

Your responsibilities:

• Developing primarily in C++
• Engineering of performance and availability monitoring solutions including design, development, test and complete ownership
• Analyzing and gaining an understanding of the inner workings of common frameworks through debugging, interrogation and similar
• Actively participate in our agile development process
• Work with a small development team with years of experience
• Close cooperation with local and international engineering teams
• Share knowledge and regularly mentor team members

What will help you succeed:

• Seven years of experience in C++ and Java
• Strong UNIX/Linux background
• Socket programming experience
• Java and UNIX shell scripting experience
• TLS/SSL (OpenSSL) programming experience
• Experience working with tools like GDB, Valgrind, Docker or Podman, etc.
• Experience or familiarity with zOS
• Enjoy developing high performant algorithms and working with latest technologies
• Team player and eager to learn innovative technologies
• Exhibit motivation in asking questions and confidence in discussing ideas.
