GeneralThe primary location for this role would be home-based, either in Gibraltar or nearby in Spain. Whatever you call us, we’re setting a new standard for insurance, and helping businesses to reach their full potential along the way.The roleAs EICL’s Pricing & Portfolio Actuary, you will be ensuring that the results are delivered against the agreed business plan. Bringing all functions together – like the conductor of an orchestra – you will proactively look for opportunities and challenges, communicate your findings to senior stakeholders, and ensure actions are taken quickly and effectively.Here’s What You’ll Be Doing

  • Redesigning and automating our MI so we make better and faster decisions📈
  • Managing our portfolios to accelerate profitable growth💰
  • Supporting the data analysis and actuarial relationship with our reinsurers👨‍💻
  • Communicating key results and uncertainties to stakeholders and relevant committees
  • Providing assistance to the Pricing, Finance, Claims, Reinsurance and Underwriting teams as appropriate

What you will need to be successful in the role

  • You have a university degree in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, actuarial, economics or data science. Being a qualified or part-qualified actuary is a bonus.
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in motor insurance, personal or commercial lines. Experience in UK motor is a bonus.
  • You have experience with statistical software such as SQL, R, Excel VBA or similar.
  • Experience with MI tools such as PowerBI, QlikView, Tableau or similar is a plus.
  • You have hands-on experience as either a Pricing Actuary or Portfolio Management Actuary
  • You have the ability to clearly communicate complex technical topics to non-technical audiences
  • You are comfortable navigating shifting priorities.
  • You are an excellent communicator, confidently articulating your ideas and perspectives individually and across the organisation.
  • You are analytical and able to draw extensive insights from qualitative and quantitative data.
  • You are commercially savvy and enjoy the challenge of adapting to the evolving needs of an ambitious, high-growth business.
