Offer DescriptionJOB POSITION: PREDOCTORAL RESEARCHER (I-PI 33-24)UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE, calls for applications to cover a temporary contractual predoctoral research position to collaborate with the project “MEEBAI: A Methodology for Emotion-Aware Education Based on Artificial Intelligence” of the Department of General and Specific Teaching Methods.Reference: I-PI 33-24Funding agency: Regional Ministry for Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society (Valencian Government)Reference: CIPROM/2021/017Within the framework of the Prometeo Programme for research groups of excellence-included in the Decision of 14 September 2021, of the Regional Ministry for Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society, for which funding was granted for the 2022 financial year for the promotion of scientific research, technological development and innovation in the Valencia Region (DOGV of 30 September 2021) and pursuant to the provisions of the regulations governing calls for applications of research staff to cover temporary contractual research positions-approved by the Governing Council of 29 June 2021 (BOUA of 30 June 2021)-and with instructions of the University of Alicante Offices of the Registrar and the Comptroller, which establish the mandatory use of electronic means for the submission of applications, documentation, payment of fees, communications, notifications and all other procedures of the selection procedures for the temporary contractual administrative and services staff and research staff and other general applicable regulations, the University of Alicante calls for applications to cover a job position in accordance with the following terms and conditions:First. Number of vacancies and features of the job vacancy1.1. Number of job vacancies: one.1.2. Job position: Predoctoral Researcher.1.3. Working hours: 37.5 hours/week in the morning/afternoon sessions.1.4. Remuneration: €1,321.43 gross/monthly (plus extra payments in accordance with current regulations).1.5. Estimated duration of the contract: From contract signature until 31 December 2025.In any case, the duration of the contract will depend on the duration of the projectand its budgetary availability.In accordance with the provisions of the agreement of the Governing Council of 27 January 2022, which approves the University of Alicante 4th Plan for equal opportunities between women and men, it is hereby stated that there is no under-representation of either gender in the category of Predoctoral Researcher.Second. PurposeTo collaborate in the research project “MEEBAI: A Methodology for Emotion-Aware Education Based on Artificial Intelligence (CIPROM/2021/017)” developing doctoral training in collaboration with the research group GIDU-EDUTIC/IN with the aim of preparing a doctoral thesis within the scope of this project and carrying out the following research tasks:– Research on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and education with a focus on emotion and attention.– Literature research on the central theme of this call.– Analysis of intelligent data (biometrics, gestures, expression) for the evaluation of the emotional states of agents involved in the teaching-learning process.– Assessment and improvement of methodologies based on the results provided by AI in teaching-learning processes.– Development of intervention methodologies to promote learning and emotion based on intelligent data.– Virtual and augmented scenarios.– Contact with research groups in German-speaking areas and literature research in German.Third. Job profile.Preference will be given to:3.1. Those with experience and training related to the tasks to be carried out on section two of the terms agreed and to non-university educational centres.3.2. Training related to the tasks to be developed in the second base and to physical aspects applicable to the movement of the human body and its relationship with emotions and attention.

3.3. German language: Only levels higher than the level mentioned on section four of these terms will be considered.Fourth. Requirements for applicants.Compliance with the requirements listed below must always refer to the date of expiry of the deadline for the submission of applications and must be maintained until the date of entering into the contract.4.1. Hold or be in the process of obtaining an undergraduate degree in engineer, architecture, or be a university graduate with a degree of at least 300 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System), hold a Master’s degree, or equivalent.4.2. Meet the academic requirements necessary for admission to the PhD programme in Knowledge-driven Educational Technology at the University of Alicante. The document accrediting admission to such a doctoral programme must be submitted when entering into the contract.4.3. Must not hold a PhD awarded by a Spanish or foreign university.4.4. Language: B1 German level.4.5. Be a Spanish national or be in one of the situations listed in article 57 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of 30 October, which approves the revised text of the Act on the Basic Statute of Public Employees (BOE of 31 October). In the case established in point 4 of this article, when entering into the employment contract, the successful applicant must be a legal resident in Spain.4.6. Be at least 16 years of age and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age.4.7. Possess the physical and mental capacities and aptitudes that are necessary for the performance of the corresponding functions or tasks, for which, prior to the signing of the contract, a medical certificate must be provided certifying the possession of said capacities and aptitudes. For these purposes, medical examinations may be carried out through the medical assistance provided by the University of Alicante Occupational Health Service.4.8. Must not have been dismissed by disciplinary proceedings from the service of any of the Public Administrations or of the constitutional or statutory bodies of the Spanish Autonomous Regions, nor have been totally or specially disqualified for public employment by a court decision, for access to the civil service, or to perform duties similar to those performed by non-tenured staff in public administrations, in which they had been dismissed or disqualified.
