Job description
We are looking for a Predoctoral researcher to join our animal experimentation team at the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute. The candidate will focus on developing in vivo animal models of musculoskeletal and osteoarticular pathologies.Education and qualifications:Required:
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent graduate degree in the field of health sciences
- Specific/Additional training in processing tissue samples from small and large animal models
- Certification of research personnel who use animals for experimentation and other scientific purposes
- Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, English (professional level)
Desired:
- Knowledge of bioengineering and cell therapy for the treatment of musculoskeletal and osteoarticular pathologies
Experience and knowledge:Required:
- Previous experience working in preclinical studies using animal models of musculoskeletal pathologies
- Knowledge of processing tissue samples from animal models for histology/immunohistochemistry analysis
- Evaluate musculoskeletal and osteoarticular disorders and injuries in animal tissue samples
- Develop personalized treatment plans for each animal
- Collaborate with other health professionals in the multidisciplinary study in animal models
- Expertise in histology/immunohistochemistry analysis
- Ability to work independently
Desired:
- Ability to participate in medical research in the field of musculoskeletal pathologies and orthopedics
- Ability to carry out scientific research and publish in specialized journals
- Publish scientific articles in specialist journals
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Prepare/Organize preclinical studies using small and large animal models.
- Perform orthopedic surgeries in animal models.
- Cell manipulation in animal and human in vitro cultures.
- Process tissue samples from animal models and perform histology/immunohistochemistry analysis.
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week
- Starting date: March 2025
- Gross annual salary: 19.150,45 (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
