Offer DescriptionThe Fortes lab at CIMA (University of Navarra, Spain) is looking for a postdoctoral student with a molecular biology background to screen and investigate the role of microproteins expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with the final goal of developing novel anticancer vaccines.The Fortes lab ( ) aims to develop biotechnological tools based on natural long non-coding RNAs and derived microproteins or on artificial non-coding sequences. We work to deliver these novel RNA therapeutics with a special focus on HCC. We have a network of outstanding collaborators to expand our expertise from the bench to preclinical models and to the clinical setting.Your roleThe successful candidate will work on a cutting-edge experimental research project that moves from the identification of HCC-expressed microproteins to functional studies towards therapeutic applications. The project is highly collaborative involving clinicians from two different hospitals, molecular biologists, immunologists, chemists and bioinformatic and proteomics experts. You will be trained as a scientist with excellent technical skills and ability to work independently and creatively coming up with innovative solutions to complex scientific problems. Additional training activities are scheduled in addition to the regular lab work. You will learn alternative techniques and experience different scientific atmospheres during short-terms performed in other laboratories.You have

• Master´s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedicine or Biotechnology (or similar) obtained no earlier than 2020.
• An academic record greater than 3.5/4- 8.5/10
• Pasion for science. Strong interest in the research topic, high motivation and commitment
• Experience in molecular and cellular biology.
• Excellent organization skills, ability to learn and to work in an international team with a highly collaborative atmosphere.
• Excellent in writing, communication and presentation skills. Fluency in English.
