Power levels will be in the 200kW to 2MW range, low voltage applications. In particular, the candidate will support all the Engineering laboratory activities related to power converters prototype/product testing, including test definition, setup preparation and instruments probing / data logging. The position will participate to prototype birthing and will manage the required interaction with the Firmware to operate the unit autonomously. The candidate shall be able, after an initial learning curve, to interpret the results in real-time during powertrain testing experiment, to prevent system failures or raise potential issues. Will focus on Engineering Validation Test of final product, too. The role includes the evaluation of single power components and second sources validation, too – both electrical and electronics. The role requires continuous communication with the rest of the Power Electronics team to align on scopes and expected results. He/She will work in a visible and challenging role that allows significant technical/personal growth, receiving training from our Team.What kind of work will you be doing?
- Support proof-of-concept definition and assembly, both at converter and at complete system level. Focuses on powertrain laboratory testing and validation, both at converter and at complete system level.
- Participate to Engineering Validation Test of final product.
- Manage and learn the Firmware to autonomously operate the device under test.
- Prepare a clean and effective test setup, to record data during experiments.
- Analyze the data both in real-time and after testing, to produce technical reports.
- Is in charge to perform/assist single power component testing for alternative source validation.
- Coordinate the activities in the laboratory to optimize testing and activities.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of test documentation.
- Follow test methodology, processes, and procedures.
What will make you successful?
- Knowledge on electrical and electronic components.
- Knowledge on power conversion and power electronics.
- Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation as oscilloscope, wattmeter, data logger, etc.
- Knowledge of testing methods and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively test results to the team.
- Good English language knowledge.
- Technical High School graduate or University diploma/degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience. Shorter experiences may be evaluated based on the specific skills of the candidate.
- Experience in equivalent areas (e.g., UPS, Power converter or low voltage electrical distribution) is a plus.
