With its 11 faculties and more than 80 departments offering state-of-the-art study programmes grounded in research in a wide range of academic fields, Ghent University is a logical choice for its staff and students.YOUR TASKSAs part of a FWO research project on Buddhist rituals in Dunhuang and connected regions within the research centre ‘Ghent Centre for Buddhist Studies’ of the Department of Languages and Cultures, your assignment consists of:– Conducting research on Buddhist ordination rituals in Dunhuang– Analysis and contextualisation of Buddhist Dunhuang manuscripts– Analysis and contextualisation of archaeological findings related to ordination rituals in Dunhuang and in regions connected to Dunhuang, including wall paintings and visual data on the Silk Roads– Analysis of research findings in a broader framework of Buddhist praxis– Communication of research findings to an academic audience and to a wider public (through public lectures, workshops, etc.)WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
