The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking two Postdoctoral Researchers. The institute also aims at training the future generation of scientists by offering high-quality educational programs to master, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers (full details on ).ICIQ is looking for two Postdoctoral Researchers to work in Prof. Burés’ research group.We are seeking two highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to join our team for an exciting project focused on mechanistic studies of catalytic reactions aimed at enhancing synthetic methods. Our research aims to deepen the understanding of catalytic processes through detailed mechanistic investigations, enabling the development of more efficient and selective synthetic methodologies. This project combines experimental techniques with knowledge-driven approaches to optimize reactions and generate valuable new insights into catalytic reactions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research that bridges fundamental chemistry with practical applications, fostering advancements in organic synthesis and catalysis. This rigorous and multidisciplinary training will prepare the researcher for a successful future in either an academic or industrial environment.Responsibilities
- Perform mechanistic studies and catalyst development.
- Laboratory group tasks.
- Publish high-quality research reports and publications.
- Conduct individual and collaborative research projects.
- Prepare reports and forward planning documents.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and applications to external bodies.
- Use creativity to analyze and interpret research data and draw conclusions on the outcomes.
Requirements
- Holding a PhD degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- A strong background in organic chemistry and/or catalysis.
- Knowledge of techniques used to monitor reactions such as NMR, IR, HPLC, and GC.
- Proficient in English (written and spoken).
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong motivation for the project.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to drive the project forward.
