The institute also aims at training the future generation of scientists by offering high-quality educational programs to master, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers (full details on ).ICIQ is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in Prof. Burés’ research group.We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team for an exciting project focused on mechanistic studies of catalytic reactions aimed at enhancing synthetic methods. Our research aims to deepen the understanding of catalytic processes through detailed mechanistic investigations, enabling the development of more efficient and selective synthetic methodologies. This project combines experimental techniques with knowledge-driven approaches to optimize reactions and generate valuable new insights into catalytic reactions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research that bridges fundamental chemistry with practical applications, fostering advancements in organic synthesis and catalysis. This rigorous and multidisciplinary training will prepare the researcher for a successful future in either an academic or industrial environment.Responsibilities
- Apply creative problem-solving to analyze, interpret, and derive insights from research data.
- Design and build machine learning models, primarily with TensorFlow.
- Produce high-quality research reports and publications.
- Lead and participate in both individual and collaborative research projects.
- Prepare detailed reports and forward-planning documents.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and applications for external funding.
Requirements
- Holding a PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics or Chemical Engineering.
- Proficient in English (written and spoken).
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong motivation for the project.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to drive the project forward.

- A solid foundation in chemistry, data science, and programming.
- Highly motivated, ambitious and enthusiastic.
- Strong journal publication record.
