The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher.ICIQ is one of the world’s internationally recognized leading institutions in the field of chemistry committed to solving major social and economic challenges by conducting top quality research in three main areas: Sustainable Catalysis, Renewable Energy and Health. The institute also aims at training the future generation of scientists by offering high-quality educational programs to master, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers (full details on ).ICIQ is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in the group of Prof. Beatriz Prieto.Responsibilities

• Read and review literature and undertake relevant research in the frame of the biosensing projects led by the group;
• Fabrication, functionalization and characterization of nano/microstructured electrodes;
• Design and optimization of novel electrochemical sensing strategies;
• Optimization of protocols to analyze biological samples;
• Integration of biosensors into point-of-care diagnostics;
• Report writing;
• Attend meetings with collaborators to discuss research progress;
• Produce peer-reviewed publications and presentations of the highest quality;
• Undertake supervision and training of intern, and PhD students as requested by the research leader;
• Maintain professional and ethical standards in the conduct of research, especially in observing research and intellectual property protocols established by the ICIQ.

Requirements

• A PhD qualification in the field of chemistry, materials science or a related discipline, combined with demonstrated research experience in electrochemical biosensing and micro/nanofabrication;
• Sound knowledge and expertise in surface analysis and biological assays;
• Demonstrated contribution to knowledge in the fields as evidenced by a publication record in high ranking, international refereed journals;
• High level written communication and presentation skills, as well as demonstrated experience in producing high quality technical and scientific documentation independently for dissemination to audiences of both experts and laypersons;
• High level interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with research colleagues and external associates in a multidisciplinary environment.

We offer:

• A full-time 3-year contract.
• Remuneration according to individual’s qualifications/experience
• Annual salary split in twelve monthly payments
• Incorporation: 01/10/2024.
