Postdoctoral Researcher position in the Laboratory of Cellular ProteostasisThe newly created Laboratory of Cellular Proteostasis at the International Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw (IIMCB) /, Warsaw, headed by Dr. Lidia Wróbel, seeks a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the project entitled “Nuclear protein quality control in neurodegeneration” carried out as the Sonata project (2023/51/D/NZ3/01939) financed of the National Science Centre, Poland. The project aims to understand the mechanisms governing mammalian nuclear protein quality control (PQC) with primary focus on protein clearance pathways and its relevance in human diseases.The deadline for applications is 31.10.2024. Start of employment 15.11.2024 or later.As a Postdoctoral Researcher you will be responsible for: performing a CRISPR/Cas9-based high-throughput screen to find novel factors and pathways key for protein quality control maintenance and ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) in the mammalian nucleus. In the project you will use cell culture methods (including human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived neurons), biochemical and molecular biology methods, flow cytometry and confocal microscopy. You will be responsible for planning and conducting experiments, recording the experiments in electronic lab notebook, data analysis and regular reporting of the results.Requirements:
- Hold a PhD degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Medicine or equivalent field. Candidates with degrees in other fields including Engineering, Computer science, Physics will also be considered if they have relevant experience.

Previous experience in one or more methods mentioned below is desirable (but not prerequisite):
- CRISPR/Cas9-based high-throughput screening
- Cell culture (cell lines, (iPSC)-derived neurons, CRISPR-based cell line modification techniques)
- Confocal microscopy
- Flow cytometry and cell sorting

- Full employment contract initially for 6 months, with the extension up to 36 months
- Gross monthly remuneration approx. 8700 PLN/month (the final monthly gross salary will be calculated individually during the employment process, taking into account the length of service).
