Offer DescriptionYour project will focus on the generation of complex shaped 3D orthopedic and cardiac tissues, with specific focus on the development of multi-axis converged biofabrication set-up and its application for functional tissue development using cutting-edge 3D (bio)printing technologies.
You will be performing cutting-edge research and will have access to state-of-the-art facilities of the Regenerative Medicine Center Utrecht (which includes the Utrecht Biofabrication Facility). You will coordinate your work within an (inter)national network of collaborators, while working in an ambitious, motivated, multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, veterinarians, materials scientists, biologists, and engineers. Further, you will co-supervise PhD and master students and teaching opportunities will be available, if desired. You will receive training, supervision, and guidance for both your research work and personal/professional development, which provides you with an excellent next step towards an independent academic career.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsSpecific Requirements

• You hold a PhD degree in mechanical engineering, biofabrication, or a related field.
• You have extensive experience with biofabrication and an interest in mechatronic engineering and the combination of technology and biology, which should be clearly argumented in your letter.
• You are curious, motivated, goal-oriented, eager to learn, and thrive in a multidisciplinary research environment. You are able to tackle challenges in an effective manner, and use your creativity to find solutions to the challenges encountered
• You can work independently, but also in a team. You are able to connect and collaborate with our consortium partners.
• You can communicate scientific ideas and results effectively.

Additional InformationBenefitsThe maximum salary for this position (36 – 36 hours) is € 5.504,00 gross per month based on full-time employment.In addition, we offer an annual benefit of 8.3%, holiday allowance, travel expenses and career opportunities.
