JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are looking for an early career researcher with an interest in family dynamics and social development, intergenerational transmission, or gene-environment interplay to work with existing data from the TRAILS and TRAILS NEXT study. The focus of the research is flexible within the larger context of social development but should show some connection to the research in the ERC Starting Grant project CAPE (https://kretschmertina.wordpress.com/erc-cape/) or the ERC Consolidator Grant project PAR2 (https://kretschmertina.wordpress.com/erc-cog-par2/) or the research of Prof. Tina Kretschmer more generally. The postdoctoral researcher should also take an active role in the research group, including contributing to research meetings, writing retreats, and mentoring PhD researchers on a day to day basis. Depending on experience and timing, there might be the possibility to contribute to a new project on social network influence on parenting, with options to realize own research ideas.The position offers the opportunity to develop your own research line in the environment of a successful group, network, expand your methodological skills, be mentored in applying for research funding, and gain further experience in writing up research for publication, mostly in developmentally oriented journals.Organization

REQUIREMENTSWe are looking for a candidate who– has a PhD in a social or behavioural science (at least manuscript completed at time of taking up the postdoc position), ideally with a longitudinal or gene-environment focus
– has gained experience and is increasingly independent in publishing research results in international journals
– is skilled in quantitative methodology.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTFixed-term contract: 18 months.We offer in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:– a salary based on qualifications and experience of starting at € 3,226 up to € 4,332 (salary scale 10, number 7) gross per month with a fulltime contract
– possibility to work part-time (0.8 FTE or 1.0 FTE)
– a holiday allowance of 8% gross annual income and an 8.3% end-of-year bonus
– excellent secondary terms of employment
