Offer DescriptionThe postdoc will be involved in further developments of high-mobility two-dimensional electron gases in close collaboration with numerous mesoscopic activities (anyonic statistics, charge Kondo physics, thermal conductivity & heat capacity, ….), as well as with the epitaxy of novel topological materials for mesoscopic studies.– MBE growth of GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructure.
– Development of 2-dimensional electron gases in InAs quantum wells.
– Installation and startup of the new III-V semiconductor / metal MBE cluster.Our team has over the years been instrumental in providing high-quality samples for a large number of prominent investigations in mesoscopic physics. The epitaxy is currently done with a molecular beam epitaxy reactor for high mobility growth. We are currently also acquiring a new MBE cluster for topological materials, consisting of a chamber for high purity III-V materials (As, Al, Ga, In, Sb, Bi, …) coupled to a second superconducting/ferromagnetic metal chamber (Al, Nb, … / Fe, Co, MgO, …). The team “Epitaxial growth of 2DEGS: III-V heterostructures” consists of one researcher and one engineer. The workplace is at the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (C2N) – CNRS at Palaiseau.
