• You will develop a new research line concerning an understudied aspect of global warming: heat and how heat impacts in work. You will look into how heat governs social, political and economic relations and shapes workers’ lived geographies in three different sectors (construction, agriculture and mining) in three distinct national contexts (Tunisia, Palestine-Israel and Qatar) using an interdisciplinary approach combining insights from postcolonial studies, political ecology and science studies.
• At least 70% of your assignment will be spent on academic research
• You will assist in teaching activities at the Master’s level

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• You hold a thesis-based doctorate in Political Sciences.
• You have at least 4 years of postdoctoral experience.
• You have field experience (fieldwork) in the Middle East and North Africa region.
• You are acquainted with and have experience in the fields of postcolonial studies, political ecology and science studies.
• You have an excellent knowledge of the English language (oral and written).
• You may present relevant scientific publications in (inter)national peer-reviewed academic journals that are widely disseminated

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

• We offer you a contract (20%) of definite duration for the period of 10 months.
• Your contract will start on 2/12/2024 at the earliest.
• Your remuneration will be determined by PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate).
